With the crazy weather this week, we hope to find you all well and drying out. But don't forget to keep that umbrella handy! Despite the gloomy weather, let's brighten up the day with a reminder that golf cart tickets are still on sale at the SOS headquarters $20.00 each or 6 for $100.00. 4635 SE Dixie Hwy, Stuart. 772-287-2149
There also a few containers of fish dip left $10.00 each.
A glimpse from last night's NAC meeting, we may not have drawn a significant crowd due to the unfavorable weather, but the discussions were notably insightful. Among the topics deliberated upon were the upcoming development of apartments on the corner of Cove and US1, as well as the planned sidewalk along Cove Road which should be starting in a few weeks. Also, we are in the waiting process for the purchase order to be completed for New Monrovia Park. When that is through, we will be getting a better look into dates to start the process. This is something we are very excited about!
Of course, after stating on the KC Ingram show that she would be there our very own District 4 Commissioner didn't bother to show up. But we won't mention that.
OOPS! Too late.
In other news...
YEEHAW!
We are happy to share that SOS has officially received it's not for profit status from the IRS and is now a 501 (C)(3) organization. Best news ever!
I spoke with a few people last night, and there seems to be just a bit of confusion with being part of SOS. I was told if you can't pay a membership, you can't be part of SOS. That is far from the truth. There are many ways to be a member. We are neighbors and friends, with the same goals for our community. Here is a brief breakdown.
*SOS support members- anyone who supports our mission and wants to volunteer your time and talent. If you're an artist or crafts person, you can donate something that you've done. We always need help at community clean ups, picnics, the gardens, our Bash and Christmas Jamboree.
*SOS paid members (resident sponsors) in addition to above listed, are members who want to invest in SOS and contribute to monthly or yearly dues. These dues help to keep SOS going strong and support our Scholarship Fund, Community Chest, SOS Gardens and our Community Events/ Projects.
*SOS Business Sponsors are local businesses that sponsor on higher levels with the same options as above, we also be sure they get advertising & recognition throughout the year as a thank you.
We urge our community to shop and dine local and support the ones who support us.
As always, we at SOS appreciate and work hard for our community. We invite one and all to stand with us to keep Port Salerno strong!
WE LOVE PORT SALERNO!
