Greetings, dear readers! Today, we continue to embark on a journey to shine the spotlight on the charming town of Stuart, with a special focus on the community's heartfelt efforts to eliminate the tax raising, money eating Brightline train station.

Stuart, nestled on Florida’s East Coast, is renowned for its picturesque waterfront views, vibrant art scene, restaurants, businesses and store fronts which hold a close-knit community spirit. However, the idea of the Brightline train station has cast a huge financial shadow for everyone. Residents and businesses are rallying together to address the impact of this infrastructure.

The Brightline train station has sparked concerns among Martin County's residents regarding our tax dollars being spent on a foreseeing bankrupt train line. Brightline is nearing $6 BILLION in debt!!! And they backed out of their agreement paying for part of the station to be built in Stuart leaving up to over $80 BILLION for Martin County taxpayers to cough up for a train that will stop only twice per day in each direction and cause more congestion and leave no parking for local businesses and their patrons! Do you know that us Martin County residents WERE committed to a $30 million parking garage which has been reallocated to the station with NO discussion from your commissioners on 8/12/2024? Leaving us with no parking garage. That's right! Our commissioners are moving OUR tax dollars around without our acknowledgement. Where is the transparency?

In response to these concerns, the residents of Martin County need to unite under the common goal of squashing the Brightline train station within our County. There is an online petition which is instrumental in amplifying the voice of the people and advocating for a solution.

PLEASE join your community this Monday September 9th at the City of Stuart Commissioner's office at 5pm and Tuesday September 10th at the Martin County Commissioner's office at 10am and speak for your concerns and voice your opinions. These meetings are of utmost importance for our tax dollars, and no one should be spending it without our input!

You can find this information and so much more on the KC Ingram show. thekcingramshow.net Along with a link for the petition.
